Chamber Music Kenwood
The most beautiful place in the world
Chamber Music Kenwood is a new series bringing classical music and the wine country together in one of the most beautiful places in the world, started by Christina Simpson in partnership with Kenwood Community Church. Christina grew up in Kenwood along with her 5 sisters and 1 brother, who all graduated from Kenwood School. Some of her best memories was practicing Bach under the Gravenstein apple tree in her backyard, looking up at Mt. Hood.
From a young age, her dream was to play viola professionally. She moved up through the Santa Rosa Youth Orchestra programs and made it to the San Francisco Youth Orchestra when she was 11. With the help of her Kenwood and Oakmont communities she raised the money as a middle schooler to travel to Massachussets and train with some of the best musicians in the world for a summer at Tanglewood. She now makes her living in San Francisco as a violist, traveling all over to perform but Kenwood remains very close to her heart.
